a few things

1. camping at 12,000 feet when the temperature is under 20 degrees is not pleasant.

2. apparently i poop twice a day.

3. geoff is crazy.

4. when it was determined that we would not be attempting to summit whitney the next day, geoff settled for giving me an engagement ring at 12,000 feet instead of 14,500ish (the highest point in the contiguous u.s.)

5. it seems that our halloween/housewarming party on the 28th will also be an engagement party.

Congrats! My brother was going to propose on top of Kilamanjaro, but her altitude sickness nixed that, so he settled for a beautiful sunset a few days later (when she was feeling better). :)

Congratulations on the engagement (and especially on not dropping the ring from that height). It sounds like you two should have plenty of time to try for the summit together later.

[identity profile] thesenorita.livejournal.com 2006-10-09 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)

1. Wouldn't know, having not done that myself.

2. TMI?

3. But would you have him any other way?

4a. Whoa, gratz0r!

4b. Apparently my proposal to my betrothed sucked...by everyone else's standards.

4c. I was at that summit half a lifetime ago.

5. It's all too much!

[identity profile] paisleychick.livejournal.com 2006-10-09 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Awesome! Congratulations to both of you and I hope you have a wonderful time at your party!

[identity profile] fgmr.livejournal.com 2006-10-09 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
You should have made him go the full 14,500 feet, to prove his commitment.

I mean, um, congratulations!

[identity profile] divsca.livejournal.com 2006-10-09 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Woo! Congratulations!

What a great place for a proposal. :)

[identity profile] mersh.livejournal.com 2006-10-09 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Congrats!

and I am glad that he didn't try to do it at 14500, sounds like it's getting gnarly up there!

[identity profile] rubrick.livejournal.com 2006-10-09 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
