May. 21st, 2004 08:50 pmit is now the weekend. i shall therefore have a beer while i wait for my fish sticks to bake. then i will freshen up and head to kevin&nikita's. i'm not sure how social i actually feel, but we'll see...
geoff is in yosemite right now on a boy's halfdome weekend. originally we were going to do a yosemite trip last weekend, but lack of planning plus other factors (like geoff's grandmother dying and him suddenly going to idaho for almost a week, plus my ankle being a bitch) resulted in the trip getting postponed. i needed to go to kevin&nikita's party so i couldn't go this weekend. also my ankle isn't completely better yet...
i've decided to go ahead and buy the wrx sportwagon in the next month or so. hoping that vrtse will go back up some to help with this endeavour.
this past sunday geoff and i went down to planet granite in belmont, took colin with us. geoff had thought when he was there before that they had some really easy lead routes, but they ended up having only a 5.8 i wasn't quite up to, and they didn't allow mockleading, so our quest to have me try leading didn't really work out. however, i realised that the back of the 2nd column at ironworks where they usually have a few 5.6-8 routes is bolted, although they never have lead routes set up there since they only believe in hard leading. anyway i asked if they'd mind if i mock-led on that wall with my own quickdraws and they said it should be okay, so i'm excited to try that now!
alas i left my fish sticks in the oven too long and they are dried out and sad now. oh well.
(and in other news, brian&bonnie also came up last weekend and we hung out with them in golden gate park on saturday, beautiful pleasant sunny day, followed by drinks high above the city and a rather entertaining scenic trip to burmese food, after which geoff and i did not go to nevin's bday party and i got upset but recovered and went to sleep early.)
