the hotness

finally we're having our september summer in the bay area. if only i had a pool... generally i like the temperate nature of bay area weather, but i do miss having a real summer sometimes. we get a few days of this here and there in late summer, then it's back to chilly nights and the coming winter rains. it's so nice to be able to sit outside on a warm summer evening sipping a drink... spending 10 years in the south got me used to the nice things about summer, the pleasant evenings, the warm thunderstorms, how good it feels to sweat in the sun and then submerge in cool water. actually i never did mind the heat so much as i couldn't deal with the humidity. maybe i ought to spend summers in vegas or arizona or someplace?
