signs you may not be operating at 100%
Jan. 9th, 2007 01:33 pmwent to oxnard for jenpaul nye wedding, yay. geoff started getting sick on the way back and was laid up tuesday and wednesday. i started getting sick on thursday and felt extremely sick on friday and saturday, but managed to drag myself to work for our office move. i slept all day on sunday and have felt better since.
this morning, however, i stopped to get gas before heading to work, and the credit auth at the pump wasn't working, so i had to go in and interact with the cashier in my barely awake pre-coffee state. upon being told by said cashier that she would not let me fill my tank, but required a dollar amount to put on the card, i had a near breakdown. having never before encountered a gas station that wouldn't let me fill up on a credit card and let me sign for the final amount after finishing, i could not fathom why this woman was demanding a dollar amount from me, and i simply could not deal with it. flustered and on the verge of tears, i made her come up with the amount for me, then i signed the slip and fled.
people are hard. next time, i'll stop for coffee first.
