Jan. 19th, 2010 11:22 amon the sickness front, i am now mostly better, but still producing some phlegm and coughing. the phlegm is slowly dissipating though, so i have high hopes of being back to normal soonish. i think geoff has plans to smother me if i'm still coughing at cirque du soleil on saturday. (speaking of which, i still need to get rid of my joco ticket, alas.) the last two weekends we mostly did nothing but lie around the house and watch tv. you know, in the name of recuperation... (he will deny it vehemently, but geoff forced me to watch 5 hours of bridezillas. 5 hours!)
i went back to the gym last night for the first time since saturday before last. the crossfit strength rotation i was doing is over now. last week was the last for a while, and i was sad i missed it due to my phlegm factory working overtime and you know trying to hack up a lung or something. anyway so yesterday it was back to normal crossfit. we did shoulder press to 1 rep max, and due to miscalculation, i thought i was super weak from being sick; i was struggling mightily with what i thought was 63 lbs (my last 5 rep max), but it was actually 73 lbs, heh. i looked at the two 10 lb plates on each side and was like waaaaait, that's 40 lbs! then i did 74 and felt much better about myself. :) the WOD had medicine ball cleans, which means dead lift + deep front squat. quite the shock to my quads after months of nothing but back squats!
in other news, my left armpit decided to suddenly have a painful stinging reaction to my tom's of maine natural deodorant. i slathered it with burn gel from the first aid cabinet, and all is better now. but wtf left armpit?!
