yeah, it was in the parking lot at work. the prius backed into me and knocked me over. i have a very impressive bruise on my shoulder where it hit me, but otherwise i seem to be fine!

It would be kind of sad if they had to give the Prius a fake engine noise for safety reasons...but not *nearly* as sad as people getting hit by silent Priuses!! I'm glad you weren't seriously hurt!

I suppose they could bill the silence as an environmental feature...help control population growth! OK, maybe not.

i'm normally very aware of my surroundings, but i was momentarily distracted and the prius was backing up way too fast, perhaps a result of a false sense of security endowed by the backup camera, as kris mentioned on facebook. the driver was probably in a hurry, noted there was nothing directly behind her, then backed up out of the parking space without looking to the side...
