It would be kind of sad if they had to give the Prius a fake engine noise for safety reasons...but not *nearly* as sad as people getting hit by silent Priuses!! I'm glad you weren't seriously hurt!

I suppose they could bill the silence as an environmental feature...help control population growth! OK, maybe not.
