visited my nurse practitioner again yesterday. she had consulted with the doctor and decided that since the fluoxetine still seemed to be causing anxiety problems and didn't show any signs of helping, they wanted to put me on paxil. (though i was probably at too low of a dose for the fluoxetine to work on me; when i was at 20mg it seemed to be working until the anxiety kicked in.) the buspirone seemed to help, and having the anxiety dissipate definitely put me in better spirits through the weekend, but starting at work monday afternoon and yesterday i was starting to feel a little anxious again... i told her that i was not so keen on trying another drug that takes a long time to go on and off, and that i would prefer to try the lexapro so i'll know if that would work or not. she agreed to give me enough samples that i ought to be able to get an idea if it will work for me, and then i'll know! if it does work well for me, then we can try to convince the insurance company to cover it, although i suspect that they'll really want me to fail on paxil before they'll agree, so i'll get to decide whether to just go ahead and pay out of pocket for lexapro or try the paxil. if it turns out that the lexapro is working, i expect it will make it much easier for me emotionally to try the paxil if the insurance company wants me to, knowing that there is something that works that i can go back to. so, fingers crossed. here's hoping that lexapro is good to me! (and that the anxiety will not continue to need medicating, but will subside when i'm off the fluoxetine. in the meantime, we're upping the buspirone, which hopefully won't make it even more difficult for me to get up in the mornings...)
on my way out of the gym last night, i decided to inquire about the private lessons. it's $35/hr, which really isn't bad at all. i mean, i pay $52 to get my bones adjusted, $60 for a massage, $70 a week for therapy... i talked to lyn and set up a lesson for next tuesday. yay for short chicks!
and yay for eggs and cheddar. i decided i was in the mood for some real breakfast this morning, so i got a croissant sandwich from downstairs. mmm, tasty.

I have considered that as a next step once I feel I have integrated the stuff I have already learned in the classes I took in LA, but don't really know much about them or how much progress I should expect to make. Since I know we had been talking about you learning more technique, I think it is awesome that you are taking steps to do so!
