(to clarify (and the squeamish should probably bow out now), i have always been a nailbiter. all my life i have been trying to stop biting my nails. i used to bite my nails so much that some of them would not even be identifiable as nails, but would be merely bloody stubs. i have recently managed to mostly stop the biting, but this seems to have been replaced by picking. stupid compulsive behaviour. i should take up smoking or something...)
