sanctuary party last weekend was awesome. extremely well run, ott was great (and adorable to watch), and i got to dance my ass off to my favorite kind of music. it made for a very nice birthday party. as i told colin, it was exactly what i'd had in mind for my 30th, but wasn't able to pull off due to the majority trancetastic makeup of the participants. not that it wasn't still a great bday party, but i'm glad i got to have this one three years later too. :> only drawback was that i had a really hard time getting to sleep due to muscle tension, which is odd since i don't usually get that side effect, so i took a sleeping pill and proceeded to sleep all day on sunday. and i mean ALL DAY. i woke up at 9pm!
last two weeks i got brittany to go climbing with me on thursdays, then yesterday i went back to the tango class again. after class i debated between going to the gym and then home, or taco bell and then practica, and i sure was glad i chose the latter. after a dance with ed, i was starting to feel like i was getting the feel of the dance, and then a bit later, i got to dance with a guy named paul who is a teacher in training at the allegro and therefore working on his teaching skills. so i basically got a free private lesson, and his teaching was _really good_. nora and ed may be great at the tango, but so far i'm not all that impressed with their teaching, at least in the beginning class. paul is an excellent leader and was awesome at explaining the leads and helping me to understand what the tango follow is all about. i can't wait to dance again! also, i'm already getting dangerous tango shoe lust. damn, those argentines have got some sexy footwear!
