Aug. 1st, 2002 12:04 pmwas dreaming i was at the old duplex in nashville. was fixing some kind of fruity trail mix sort of thing? my mother had several tattoos, some curvy black line ones, one with turquoise... then she was wearing layers of clothing, a bra and a camisole and a shirt. (she doesn't wear a bra normally.) she was complaining about too many layers. they were trying to get her to wear bras for some reason. paolo was there, or was it ben? someone else had gone off to find a cafe and he was there alone now.
before that there was voting on some clothing option for something, for a jacket. i voted for the short length although i said i wanted medium length if there were a better option. i lost my ballot slip of paper in the trail mix and had to pour it out which was why i was redoing it.
before that there was this kind of buffy related bit and a wedding with all this dancing; i guess i was a bridesmaid or something. then there was a dinner, but it was thanksgiving dinner, and it was at my grandma's, but she didn't cook the thanksfiving part but ordered it, and i was kind of upset b/c someone (my mom?) had not told her to get one for me, but at least there were mashed potatoes, so it was okay.
later, the stove where i was working was painted a metallic blue, i guess like the nail polish i have on. inside the burners it was coated really thick and very metallic, but i noticed it seemed to be not dry yet, and i pulled at an edge and underneath it was all like pudding.
my mother was telling me how to do the trail mix, which involved halves plums or pears or something. she had me invert a strainer in a bowl and place pats of butter around it. i said that it was already made and i was just fixing it, did i still need the butter, and she said yes. i mentioned about the atkins diet possibly having been right all along about fat being okay.
oh yeah, much of the bit with the voting and the cooking seemed to take place in water, like there was a river running through the house.
