after the long weekend
Jul. 8th, 2003 01:33 amgot to bart to sf and back for a 15 minute interview this afternoon. i guess it went ok but who knows... regardless, was feeling back in the despair regarding job prospects as i walked home. decided to stop at triple rock for a beer and some food and a sit on the roof in the beautiful day. i really need to sit in the sun more. should have gone to the gym this evening but didn't make it. did do four loads of laundry though.
so thursday evening went and got my circular barbells put in. much easier this time, heh. geoff got back from a client just in time to rush off for a kamakura run with geordan and davedawn. we were going to go see rabbit in the moon at 1015 but it got kind of late and i wasn't really feeling the crowded club idea, so we ended up just going back to the house. geoff finally got to make flaming dr peppers for me, which were fairly vile. i played around for a while with mixing records and had a pretty good time.
friday we got a rather slow start. was trying to convince geordan to come to the sunset party with us, but he kept stalling and ended up going to great america after all. we did grab anthony, but it was like 6pm by the time we got there, and the chp had (rather illegally i'm sure) closed down the town of bolinas to prevent access to the beach (a big no-no in california so i'm told). some folks went ahead and hiked in (cross-country since chp was turning pedestrians around on the roads too), but we figured it was so late already that by the time we could manage to get there it be pretty much over, so we just headed back to the house to get ready for later activities. some people showed up after dinner and caught some of the oakland fireworks from the roof. later on, the trunk cache was opened and we went wandering down by the lake setting off fireworks. not much very exciting though, a couple little rockets and roman candles and one biggish nice thing. nothing like the stuff we used to do in nashville! anyway it was a pretty low key night on the whole.
slept in and pretty much just hung out around the house and slacked on saturday, then went to the group viewing of t3 at the metreon. went to the pow bar afterward for a bit, where the world's worst bartender was working. she was quite bouncy and wearing a lowcut top that showed off her chestly assets very well though, so she seemed to still be doing alright tipwise. i actually had to return the "sidecars" she gave me, which were served in highball glasses and seemed to consist primarily of really bad sour mix. she then replaced them with lemon drops, which i figured were hard to mess up too badly, but the mix was so off that the overwhelming flavour was bad well vodka... oh well. walking back to our cars from the bar, it was decided that a Sunday of Schneider was in order.
so, headed to san jose sunday afternoon and had another lazy day with bbq and tunes. also, pool fun. after dark though. not the optimal timing.
so it was a long lazy weekend. nice to relax and not really go anywhere but still be social.
i should probably be asleep but first i have to remove the piles of clean clothes from the bed. tomorrow i must really make better progress on cleaning up this place. and go to the gym. and continue the endless submitting of job applications.
