danced out i guess

did climbing/dave's house/swing session/after hours on friday, although i left pretty early and got to bed around 3am. heard the blues room (live music) at after hours was really happening and kind of regretted not sticking around for that, but sleep called. yesterday went to frank ogawa plaza early to help with setup or whatever was needed, but of course hardly anyone showed up until much much later, as they were probably all still asleep. took a bunch of photos, my first real attempt at trying to photograph people dancing. went to new world (a vegan restaurant) for dinner with a group of folks, not bad, then it was BART back home to get ready for the night at sweet's, and of course we know how that turned out. finally made it into sweet's around 11:30 i think. i wish i'd managed to get there early enough to catch more of barbara morrison, who is quite fantastic, but alas. i danced a good deal and ended up leaving shortly after 3am. although i was pretty tired, i felt i could've danced more, except that my knee started to hurt, so i figured i might as well just go home and sleep.

decided to sleep as much as i felt like, and if i happened to be up early enough i'd head over to golden gate park for the bbq, of course that didn't happen. however, i was quite sure that if geoff wasn't back from yosemite yet, i'd go to the doghouse at 6pm and hang out there until he called. i seem to still be at home though, unshowered and in my pajamas. oh well. i did some dishes and should probably do some more work on cleaning up around here. i did get some good dancing in yesterday and got to hang out with most of the people there with whom i cared to. i don't mind having way overpaid the events i actually attended; was glad to help make it happen.

time to get clean.

yeah, i make me miss dancing too. :) i think this was the first time i've made it out this year... i'm sure there must be a better balance between going out dancing 5 times a week and the maybe 3 times a year i have been. but once out of the habit of going a lot, it becomes easy not to go at all. and there are so many other things to do...
