yeah, our country is all about denying certain secondclass citizens the rights that others have, right? that's what the constitution is all about... *bile rising* *anger seething*

take a deep breath and have some beer.

someday i'll actually write a journal update.

Well, there are historical precedents for constitutional hypocracy... slave owner Thomas Jefferson penning "all men shall be created equal", among others. What kills me is how quick the just recently oppressed are to jump on the bandwagon and become oppressors.

People suck. Not all people, but certainly enough of them to keep things unpleasant for the rest of us :^)

Yeah... Lisa and I thought hard about whether to go get M'd in Holland or Vermont first (or only) because it was weird to get legally linked when it's a system that discriminates agin' certain others who might/do want to themselves, but can't. All the moreso given our personal affiliations.

We thought about LLC-ing instead, or just having a "church" wedding, w/o filing w/ the state/city, etc., too.

'Weird how there's a taxation-related effect. I understand (if not agreeing) a government's desire to incentivize parents to stay together during child-rearing years, but other than that....
