sat at the computer for most of the day. net finally got fixed and i did some catchup. applied to a few jobs. went to the gym tonight for the first time in... 2.5 weeks. finally feeling mostly non-sick again, yay. still very moody but certainly better than last week, when i was sick and full of sloth. the job struggle is really weighing on me though. extremely difficult to resist the negative thoughts. i'm ok if i keep myself distracted... wish i could distract myself in useful rather than mindless ways though.

dirt road up very steep hill, some people unable to even make it up on foot. some sort of contest with mountain bikes to go up it. there were many events apparently, but i only signed up for one, just wanted to see how far up i could get. i don't think we got to it though, then i was naked and ezray was arriving to go out for lunch, and wanted to go get potato puffs at a location where they were only available for a tiny window of time, and we only had till 17 after the hour. i quickly pulled my little comic print dress on. it was supposed to be in an abandoned industrial complex near Vic's, but we ended up having to drive though this big street fair and couldn't make it for the potato puffs. i suggested we should go to Vic's instead. walked through a nice waterfront park that i'd been to before in a dream. they had a poetry tree there. (there was some sign or something in front of it and you were supposed to read poetry there...?) then we were walking up a canal, and came to be in an apartment that was josh and valerie's, where i needed to take a shower while they waited for me. the showerhead was a complex affair with like 5 different independent nozzles and a soap dispenser and it talked to you, advertising itself, which was odd since it had already been bought obviously. the tub was not draining well and i was taking a long time because it was difficult to get thoroughly rinsed off when up to my hips in soapy water. finally i got the tub to drain and got rinsed off. on television there was a reinterpreted movie version of the book _a house without windows_ from my childhood (which i wish i had remembered to try to find when i was in nashville recently). this was a book written as i recall by a very young woman about a girl who leaves home and learns to be happy out in nature. the house without windows here refers to the outdoors. i wish i could remember more about this book, but it has been so so many years. i've been thinking about it a lot lately for some reason and wishing i could reread it.
